The fact is, everyone knew what a lunatic he was and what he was up to. In this little piece of history from The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Thomas Lamont writes an essay about just how wrong Germany was and how it, along with Japan, acted as a "super-gangster nation."

I'd never heard of a blonde Eskimo before I saw one in a tiny monograph by the artist Rockwell Kent. What I can't understand is how I'd never heard of Rockwell Kent before now??

Work is Fun!!

I work three days a week for Stanford University Libraries in their Book Repair lab. Every day there are deliveries of books in need of repair from the schools' assorted libraries. While I have no choice as to what passes into our hands, I am, nonetheless, surprised and delighted  by the variety and content of what I see.
